Lucknow, Aug 20 (Agency) Custom team at the Choudhury Charan Singh International airport has seized gold worth over Rs 14.97 lakhs from a passenger coming from Dubai here on Friday. According to a press statement by the custom department here, gold was recovered from paste, net weighing 302.000 gms valued at Rs. 14,97,920/- from a passenger coming from Dubai via flight no FZ 433.
It further said that during the personal search of the passenger, a packet of transparent cellophane having yellow colored paste stitched inside the belt area of the innerwear was recovered. The passenger procured the gold by melting the said paste in the furnace. Total weight came out to be 302.000 gms valued at Rs 14,97,920/-.
