Bengaluru, Sep 30 (Representative) Customs officials seized gold worth of Rs 61 lakh at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) from an aircraft here on Thursday. Officials said the gold was in the form of pest and rods under a seat in the Indigo aircraft.
This was found in the economic class with 29 gold rods and pests weighing 701grams and 599 grams and said to be for illegal smuggling. However, the officials said the gold was kept under the seat to change hands to another person suspected. A case has been registered and investigation is on.
