CBI takes over investigation of three more cases related to post poll violence in WB

New Delhi, Oct 20 (Agency) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed three more cases in compliance of the orders of Calcutta High Court, passed in connection with post poll violence in West Bengal. The agency also took over the investigation of these cases earlier registered at different WB Police Stations on various allegations, the agency statement said. As per the agency, the first case was registered at Golf Green PS in Kolkata district on May 16, on the allegations that the accused attacked the complainant and his family members with bamboo sticks, rod, blade and the victims suffered injuries due to the attack. The victims were taken to PG Hospital and after treatment, they were discharged.

The case was registered and section 354 and 506 of IPC were added in it subsequently as per the orders of the Court. The second case was earlier registered at Gangarampur PS, South Dinajpur district on May 1, on the allegations that the accused went to the residence of victim on April 27, and took him to Gangarampur Kaldighi. It was alleged that the victim was then attacked by the accused with iron rod, bamboo sticks and other weapons and was left severely wounded. The victim was admitted to Gangarampur Kaldighi Hospital but he finally succumbed to his injuries on April 29. In the third case that was registered at Amdanga PS, North 24 Parganas district. It was alleged that the accused murdered the victim. It was alleged that the dead body was found hanging on May 10. CBI has so far registered 43 cases and investigation is continuing in these cases, said CBI.
