New Delhi, Aug 30 (Bureau) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday conducted search of a Punjab National Bank locker belonging to Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. The probe agency visited a Ghaziabad branch of the bank over alleged irregularities in new excise policy, CBI sources said.A few hours before the search, Sisodia tweeted: “CBI is coming to see our bank locker. Nothing was found in the 14-hour raid at my house on August 19. “Nothing will be found in the locker either. Welcome to CBI. My family will give full cooperation in the investigation.” “There is jewellery and some other items belonging to my wife and children,” he added. On August 19, CBI conducted a raid at Sisodia’s residence.
The probe agency is yet to disclose whether they found any evidence at his house. The issue of CBI raid at Dy CM’s residence also echoed at Delhi Assembly during the special session. Sisodia told the House that BJP was trying to scare him by CBI raids. BJP MLAs in Delhi Assembly during the session created ruckus and demanded for sacking of Sisodia from his post, while AAP MLAs held a protest overnight at Vidhan Sabha premises and demanded CBI-ED probe against LG. “BJP has been claiming multi-crore scam in implementing the new excise policy while CBI sleuths who came to my house for search informed that it is the probe about just Rs One crore,” Sisodia said this on the first day of the two-day Assembly session.
