New Delhi, July 10 (FN Agency) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered a case against former officials of the Delhi Jal Board and NBCC, including then chief engineer of Jal board and General Manager of NBCC for allegedly favouring an ineligible private company, the CBI said on Saturday.Searches were conducted at ten locations in Delhi and NCR at the premises of the accused which led to recovery of incriminating documents and digital evidence. Cash of Rs 1.5 crore, huge jewellery worth Rs 1.2 crore, fixed deposits of Rs 69 lakh and various property documents were found from the residence of then GM, NBCC, claimed CBI.The case has been registered against then Chief Engineer (WW) , then SE (WW)-II, then Executive Engineer (E & M) , then Assistant Engineer (E&M) and then AAO, all of DJB officials and then GM and then Project Executive, both of NBCC Limited and a private company for allegedly favouring a private company to get supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning (SITC) of Electromagnetic flow meters, the CBI in a statement said.
Earlier, a preliminary enquiry was conducted. It was alleged that the accused had entered into conspiracy to provide undue favour to said private company and had made it technically eligible (which was otherwise not allegedly eligible). It was further alleged that a tender NIT 22 was issued in December, 2017 for Supply, Installation, Testing & Commissioning (SITC) of Electromagnetic Flow Meters and corresponding O&M operations for five years of Delhi Jal Board, the statement added.It was alleged that due to conspiracy of the accused with said private company and false certificates and fabricated deviation statement issued by NBCC, the said private company qualified and bagged a tender worth Rs 38 crore, the statement said.
