New Delhi, Sep 12 (Representative) Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested 11 persons, four on Saturday and seven on Sunday, in an ongoing investigation of two separate cases related to post poll violence in West Bengal. CBI had registered these cases on the order of Calcutta High Court and took over the investigation of the cases earlier registered by various Police Stations, the CBI statement said. It is learnt that on September 4, CBI had filed chargesheet in the first case against four accused before the Court. The agency had registered the case on August 25 after Calcutta High Court orders and took over the investigation of the case, earlier registered at Police Station Bhatpara in North 24 Parganas against three accused and unknown persons for allegedly visiting the victim’s house and abusing him and family members. One of the accused allegedly hurled a bomb on the forehead of the victim and due to the explosion of the bomb, he died, CBI said. The investigation was being conducted against the remaining accused.
In the second case, chargesheet was filed against two accused before the Court. CBI had registered the case on August 28, and started probe into the case, which was earlier registered at Police Station Nalhati in Birbhum on the allegations that the complainant was going to Madhuri from Nalhati, when was near the Police Camp, two unknown persons informed him that one person was lying in the paddy field by the side of Canal Bank road. To hear this, the complainant rushed to the spot and got to know that a resident of nearby Jagdhari village was lying dead in the paddy field. The police were informed about it, cops came to the spot and brought the deceased body to Rampurhat hospital. In the on-going investigation of a case, registered on August 31, CBI had also conducted searches at nine places which led to recovery of mobile phones and sim cards. This case was earlier registered at Police Station Chakdah in Nadia on April 18, in the FIR, it is said that the accused got hold of the victim outside his house and hit his head with a blunt object.
