Jalandhar, Nov 15 (Agency) Border Security Force (BSF) seized eight packets of contraband suspected to be heroin from Punjab border. A spokesperson of the Punjab Frontier Headquarter of the BSF here on Monday said that the troops of the BSF deployed in the area of responsibility of 116 Bn of the BSF in Ferozepur sector while conducting search operations ahead of border security fence on Sunday evening in the area detected 8 packets of contraband suspected to be heroin weighing 7.412 kg from the paddy fields adjacent to International Border Track in the shape of sticks. This is however for the first time that the heroin has been recovered in the shape of sticks. Value of the heroin seized is said to be more than Rs 37 crore in the international market.
