Tarn Taran (Punjab), May 15 (Agency) Alert Border Security Force patrol party intercepted a Heroin-carrier drone in Punjab’s Tarn Taran border district early Wednesday, the BSF said.During early hours, vigilant BSF troops on patrol intercepted movement of the drone across border fence in district Tarn Taran. As per protocol, BSF troops tracked its movement and endeavoured to neutralise it, the BSF Spokesperson said. The drone’s likely dropping zone was cordoned and an extensive search was conducted, the spokesperson said.
“At about 6.15am, the troops successfully recovered one small drone with one packet of suspected Heroin attached with it ahead of border fence in area of Village Havelian,” he added. He said the recovered packet weighing 550g approx was wrapped with transparent adhesive tape inside which two small packets wrapped with yellow adhesive tape were discovered. A ring made of nylon rope was also found attached with the main packet. The recovered drone (Model-DJI Mavic 3 Classic, Made in China) was recovered in partially broken condition.
