Anti-Narcotics Cell arrests three foreign nationals, heroin seized

New Delhi, Oct 6 (Agency) Anti-Narcotics Cell of Delhi Police on Wednesday busted a drug factory and arrested three foreign nationals. Heroin and chemicals worth Rs 13 crore in the international market were seized. According to police, the mastermind of the racket was an intruder and came to India through Bangladesh without a valid Indian visa. Heroin was smuggled in India from the African continent through Russia by using Indian Ports and cross border smuggling via Bangladesh and Nepal. Over one kg 300 gm of good quality Heroin, worth Rs 13 crore, was seized. For the past few days, information was received through sources that some African nationals were involved in the import and distribution of drugs. After this input, police intensified checking in the area. The efforts yielded results when, on October 1, at around 3:50 pm, cops received specific information that smuggling of a large quantity of contraband was expected to take place at a location near R-Extension Block Mohan garden by African National. Seeing two African nationals were coming on scooty, cops signaled them to stop but they started running but caught them after a brief chase. During the search, a total of 1 kg fine quality contraband, suspected to be Heroin, 500 gm each, parceled in white polythene packets weighing nearly 1kg was found concealed in their pockets.

The accused have been identified as Henry Okolie (41), and Uchechukwu Peter (37), both are Nigeria nationals. The accused told police that they came to India in 2019 as an intruder via Bangladesh. They disclosed that the channel of contraband Heroin, the contrabands came from Africa through Russia then it came to India. Big Vendors contacted the retailers through virtual numbers and supplied the contrabands at retailer’s venues. The accused rented two rooms on different floors of R-extension Block, Mohan Garden where they used to live on the ground floor and set up a factory on the top floor of the same building. During the investigation, they were asked to call Uka Chukwu for more consignment who then told them to meet him at R-Extension Block, Mohan Garden area. On this, a trap was laid by the Anti Narcotics Cell team and apprehended Uka Chukwu, a Nigerian national, when he arrived to deliver the consignment at around 2:50 pm. A total of 300 gm fine quality contraband, suspected to be Heroin, parceled in white polythene packets was allegedly found from him, said Shankar Choudhary, DCP, Dwarka Delhi.
