Mumbai, Nov. 2 (Agency) A special PMLA court here on Tuesday remanded former home minister of Maharashtra Anil Deshmukh to the custody of Enforcement Directorate (ED) till November 6 in a money laundering case. Deshmukh was grilled by the Central agency on Monday for over 13 hours and arrested this morning.
The 72-year-old had gone to the ED office before noon on Monday for probe into the allegations of Rs 100-crore extortion levelled by former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh. The senior Nationalist Congress Party leader had said that he was appearing before the ED voluntarily, as he respected the law of the country.
