Air Customs officials seize gold worth Rs 1.30 crore at Kannur Int’l Airport from three passengers

Kannur, Apr 8 (Agency) Air Customs sleuths on Wednesday seized 2835 grams of gold valued around Rs 1.30 crore from three passengers who arrived at Kannur International Airport from Sharjah in an Air India flight. Customs sources said that they detained Muhammed Ashraf Abdulla of Kasaragod, Rajeesh of Sreekandapuram in Kannur district and Abdulla Kunhi Muhammed of Kasaragod in this connection.

920 grams of gold valued Rs 42.50 lakh was seized from Muhammed Ashraf Abdulla and another 970 grams of gold valued Rs 44.81 lakh was seized from Rajeesh. The remaining 945 grams of gold valued Rs 43.65 was found from Abdulla Kunhi Muhammed, customs officials said.
