ACB traps In-Charge Sub Registrar taking Rs 2 lakh bribe

Hyderabad, Feb 14 (Agency) The sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught an in-charge sub-registrar in Hyderabad when he was accepting a bribe amount of Rs 2 lakh. On Tuesday at about 1825 hours, the Accused Officer (AO-1) Amair Faraaz, Sr Asst., I/C Sub Registrar, 0ffice of the Sub Registrar, Doodhbowli, Hyderabad, was caught by ACB when he demanded and accepted the bribe amount of Rs 2 lakhs through (AO-2) Gopi Singh, a private person, from the complainant Syed Shahbaaz of Hyderabad for doing an official favour– for registration of two sale deeds, one in the name of the complainant and the other in his name and in the name of his friend Shaik Parvez, jointly, a ACB statement said on Wednesday.

The tainted bribe amount was recovered from the possession of the AO-2 at his instance. The fingers of both hands of the AO-2 yielded positive results in the chemical test. Thereby, Amair Faraaz performed his public duty improperly and dishonestly. Therefore, the accused officers were being arrested and produced before the Prl Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases Court at NampaLly.
