ACB sleuths caught ASI on bribe charges

Hyderabad, Jun 25 (Agency) Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Friday caught red-handed a Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) in Gangadhara police station when he was accepting a bribe amount of Rs 15,000. Patel Chandra Reddy, Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police, Gangadhara Police Station in Karimnagar district was caught red-handed at 0954 hours this morning when he demanded and accepted the bribe of Rs.15,000 from the complainant Jurru Rajamallu of the same district.

The ASI has demanded the bribe from the complainant for not to harass the latter, who is accused in Cr.No.93/2021 U/ sec 290, 324 IPC altered to 290, 326 IPC of Gangadhara PS”, an ACB release here said. The ASI, thereby, obtained undue advantage, to perform his public duty improperly and dishonestly. The bribe amount was recovered from his possession at his instance. The ASI is being arrested and he will be produced before the Special Judge for SPE & ACB cases, Karimnagar, the release added.
