A judge in Odisha looted by cyber crime

Kendrapara, Aug 8 (Representative) In the latest incident, a judge has become the victim of cyber crime in Odisha. Kendrapara Adhoc Additional Sessions Judge (Fast Track court) Tribikram Keshari Chinnar, became a victim of cyber loot when a person, imposing himself as a customer care Executive of ICICI bank, managed to withdraw more than Rs 9000 from his bank account in two phases . The matter has come to the fore after the judge lodged an FIR with the Kendrapara Sadar police station. Mr Chinnar, in his complaint, alleged that he has a bank account in the Kharvel Nagar branch of the ICICI Bank at Bhubaneswar .

On July 19 last he contacted the bank customer care unit after Rs 1062 was deducted automatically from his account. But nobody responded. Later, a telephone call came to the mobile of the Judge from the dialed number .The caller , identified himself as a member of the customer care asked the Judge to download an application from mobile play store and guided to install it But after sometime a sum of Rs 9090 and Rs 210 was withdrawn from his account. The judge then lodged an FIR. The Sadar police registered a case and conducted an inquiry into the incident.
