Chennai, Dec 16 (Agency) Officials of the Customs Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) hve seized 902 gms of Heroin worth Rs 6.31 crore from a Kenyan woman who arrived from Sharjah at the Anna International airport here. An official release today said based on intelligence, a woman passenger, Irungu Mary Muthoni, a Kenyan national who arrived from Sharjah by an Air Arabia Flight was intercepted by the AIU officials.
On examination of her in person, Heroin was found concealed in her rectum, which resulted in recovery of 902 gms of the drug worth Rs 6.31 crore rupees. The same seized under the NDPS Act, 1985 read with Customs Act, 1962. The passenger has been arrested. Further investigation is under progress.
