Chennai, July 6 (Agency) Officials of Customs Air Intelligence Unit seized 495 gms of gold valued at Rs 24.2 lakh and arrested one passenger who arrived from Sharjah at the Anna International airport here today. On personal search, four bundles of gold paste weighing about 602 grams were recovered from rectum.
On extraction 495 grams of 24k purity gold valued at Rs.24.2 lakhs was recovered and seized under the Customs Act. The passenger was arrested. Further investigation is under progress.
