New Delhi, Nov 16 (Agency) Three shooters including a rioter who was allegedly involved in north-east Delhi riots were arrested by Special Cell of Delhi Police, and recovered a service pistol of a police officer robbed during riots, police said on Tuesday. Three accused have been identified as Sahid (23) alis Shahbaz, Sameer (24) alias Bali and Suhail Chaudhary (22) alias Bawarchi.
A team of Special Cell arrested them and recovered a looted official pistol of a Head Constable of Delhi Police, said police.One official 9 mm pistol with 5 live cartridges, looted during riots on February 24, 2020 from Head Constable Chhetrapal Singh vide FIR No. 60/2020 dated February 25, 2020 at Police Station Dayalpur, North-East, Delhi. According to police, Sahid was allegedly involved in the riots. He had looted the official pistol of Head Constable Chhetrapal who was assaulted by the rioter’s mob. On that day, HC Chhetrapal whose pistol was allegedly robbed by the accused, also sustained multiple serious injuries and he is in a persistent vegetative state, police said.
