Kakinada, Sep 5 (Agency) The Amalapuram sub division police, based on intelligence from SP M Ravindranath Babu, Intercepted a car at Ethakota check post near Ravulapalem on the national highway in the early hours of Saturday and seized 224 kgs of ganja which was being clandestinely moved out from the East Godavari agency area to a destination in Hyderabad.
Two people were arrested along with Rs 32,000 cash besides two cell phones were seized from them, police said. The ganja was packed in 105 plastic bags and stuffed into seven gunny bags with the total market value estimated to be Rs 4.48 lakhs . Amalapuram DSP Y Madhavareddy and Ravulapalem CI Krishna have arrested the accused –Shaik Khaza (26) and Syed Khader (25) – both from Hyderabad, police added.
