Thane, May 9 (Agency) The MBVV (Mira Bhayandar Vasai Virar) Police have arrested 19 persons, including six employees of a bar and restaurant, in a raid. The Kashimira Police raided the Mansi Orchestra Restaurant and Bar early on Saturday and found four women hidden in a cavity there. They arrested 19 persons, including 13 customers and six employees, on various charges, police said. The staff operated the bar without due permission and made the women to dance in violation of the current Covid-related restrictions.
The arrested employees have been identified as Vishal Phatak, Mahesh Anna, Gopal Gouda, Srinivas Gouda, Ritesh Soni and Daber Siyal. Police are on the lookout for the owners of the restaurant — Shyam Korde and Ravi Shetty. Police seized cash of Rs 1,91,500 along with musical instruments and stock of liquor from the restaurant. Offences under sections 308, 269, 270 and 34 of Indian Penal Code and other relevant sections have been registered against the arrested accused. Further probe into the crime is underway, sources added.
