Bhopal/Hyderabad, May 10 (Agency) In the most comprehensive coordinated operation of its kind within the country against the international fundamentalist organisations Hizb ut-Tahrir (HuT) and Tehreek-e-Khilafat (TeK), ten activists were arrested on Tuesday in the Madhya Pradesh capital and one in Chhindwara by the state Anti-Terrorism Squad besides five taken into custody in Hyderabad.According to inputs from Police Headquarters, the local arrests were executed within Shahjahanabad, Aishbagh, Lalghati and Piplani areas. Anti-national documents, equipment, objectionable literature, etc were appropriated.
The accused were identified as gymnasium trainer Yasir Khan (29), coaching class teacher Saiyyad Sami Rizvi (32), tailor Shahrukh, labourer Misbah-ul-Haq (29), auto driver Shahid, software engineer Saiyyad Danish Ali, computer technician Mehraj Ali (25), teacher-cum-businessman Khalid Hussain (40), Waseem Khan, Mohd Alam (35) – all apprehended here – and private-sector employee Kareem in Chhindwara. They secretly did target practice in close-combat training camps organised within forests under the supervision of trainers from Hyderabad. The extremists communicated via applications utilised by most terrorist outfits including the Islamic State.The HuT and TeK network is spread over in excess of 50 countries and 16 nations have proscribed them.
