New Delhi, Jan 28 (FN Bureau) Ministry of Textiles has extended the deadline for submission of applications under production-linked incentives (PLI) Scheme for textiles till February 14, 2022. Earlier the cut-off date was January 31. “Ministry of Textiles has extended the timeline for submission of applications under the PLI scheme for textiles till 14.02.2022. Earlier the date of submission of online application under PLI scheme for textiles was upto 31st January 2022,” Ministry of Textiles said in a statement on Friday.
The government had in December last year finalised the operational guidelines for the scheme and invited online applications starting January 1, 2022. Incentives worth Rs 10,683 crore are proposed to be provided to industry over five years to spur growth in the sector. The government expects that the scheme will result in fresh investment of above Rs 19,000 crore in textile sector and additional production turnover of over Rs 3 lakh crore in five years. The PLI scheme for textiles seeks to promote production of high value man-made fabric, garments and technical textiles in country.
