Telangana Dy CM holds crucial meetings at MINExpo 2024 in Las Vegas, explores investment opportunities

Hyderabad, Sep 25 (FN Bureau) The Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana Bhatti Vikramarkh commenced his visit to MINExpo in Las Vegas on Tuesday. MINExpo 2024, the world’s largest mining event, is scheduled at the Las Vegas Convention Centre from September 24–26, 2024. The event showcases the latest innovations, technologies, and machinery in the mining industry and provides networking opportunities with over 44,000 professionals from more than 125 countries in attendance, an official statement said on Wednesday. The Deputy Chief Minister had a series of significant meetings on Tuesday, at MINExpo, which is recognized as the world’s largest gathering of mining equipment manufacturers. During his visit, he met with the management of Komatsu and examined their latest products, including the D475A-8 mining dozer, GD955-7 motor grader, ZT44 blasthole drill, HRX 1000 sizer, 12HM26 continuous miner, and the WE2350-4 hybrid wheel loader. He also engaged with the management of Caterpillar Inc., where he reviewed their latest offerings such as the Cat®️ Dynamic Energy Transfer (DET) system, the 372-tonne Cat®️ 798 AC mining truck designed for autonomous haulage, the Cat R1700 XE load-haul-dump (LHD) loader, the Cat R2900 XE LHD, the PGS 1260 HD Energy Storage System (ESS) module, and the MEC500 for mobile equipment charging. Additionally, the Deputy CM met with the management of BKT Tyres and the Wirtgen Group to explore their latest innovations for the mining sector.
Later in the day, he held discussions with senior officials from the U.S. government, including Arun Venkataraman, Assistant Secretary of Global Markets, and other high-ranking officials such as Olimar Rivera Noa, Senior Policy Advisor, Shantanu Sarkar, Commercial Specialist, Cornelius Gyamfi, International Trade Specialist, Derek Schlickeisen, Global Energy Sector Lead, and Jasmine Braswell, Global Design and Construction Trade Specialist. Both parties had a productive exchange, with the U.S. officials expressing strong interest in facilitating potential investments in Telangana, praising the state’s investment climate based on their previous positive experiences in Hyderabad. The Deputy CM and Venkataraman discussed the importance of sustainability in mining, the rising significance of rare earth metal mining, and the potential for strategic partnerships in the development of the new Fourth City in Hyderabad. They also highlighted Hyderabad’s critical role as an engine of growth for the Telangana economy, reflecting on the positive experiences of American companies operating in Hyderabad. The discussions underscored the need for strategic cooperation between India and the U.S., particularly in light of the recent meetings between the heads of state of both nations. The meeting concluded on a positive note, with Venkataraman expressing hope for renewed collaboration in the future.
