Mumbai, Mar 7 (FN Agency) Extending losses for the fourth straight session on Monday, the BSE Sensex on Monday plummeted 1491.06 points to close at 52,842.75, eight-month low as US and it’s allies imposed sanctions on Russian oil export. The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too slipped 382.20 points at 15,863.15. The day opened on a weak note at 53,172.51 down 1161 pts in early trade. During the day it lost ground by 1976 points at 52,367.10 days low, before closing at 52,842 75, plunging 1491.06 points from its previous close.
The sensex registered days high and low at 53,203.87 and 52,367.10 respectively. The Nifty recorded days high and low at 15,944.60 and 15,711.45 respectively. The sectoral indices that slid were Realty by 5.31 per cent a top loser followed by Bankex by Bankex and Auto by 4.59 and 4.02 per cent respectively. Even, Finance too fell by 4.35 per cent. In scrips, IndusInd Bank dropped 7.63 per cent to Rs 834.10, Axis Bank by 6.70 per cent to Rs 667.25, Maruti Suzuki by 6.56 per cent to Rs 6769, Bajaj finance by 6.37 per cent to Rs 6122.55. The Mid Cap declined by 2.25 per cent and Small Cap by 2.30 per cent. In 30 scrips, four rose and 26 slipped.
