Mumbai, Jul 14 (Agency) The BSE Sensex on Wednesday gained further by 134.32 pts to close at 52,904.05 on the strength of IT, Technology, Capital Goods and Health Care stocks. The Nifty too moved up by 41.60 pts to 15,853.95. The equity market remained volatile today, as the sensex moved up by 32 pts to open at 52,801.44. It rallied by 209 pts to 52,978.58, days high, before closing at 52,904.05, advancing by 134.32 pts from its previous close. Meanwhile, it was drifted lower by 158 pts to 52,611.97, days low.
The sensex registered days high and low at 52,978.58 and 52,611.97 pts respectively. The Nifty recorded days high and low at 15,877.35 sand 15,764.20 pts respectively. In sectoral indices, IT was a major gainer, up by 2.55 pc followed by Technology, Capital Goods and Health Care stocks. In scrips, Tech Mahindra was a star gainer up by 2.68 pc to Rs 1078.40 followed by HCL Technology, Infosys and L&T and Tata Steel. The Mid Cap rose by 0.21 pc and Small Cap by 0.24 pc. In 30 scrips, 16 advanced while 14 declined.
