Mumbai, Nov 29 (FN Agency) The BSE Sensex on Monday recovered 153.43 pts to close at 57,260.58 as fresh buying was seen in Technology, Consumer Durable and IT stocks. The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too rose 27.50 pts at 17,053.95. High volatility was seen during the day as the Sensex opened in red at 57,028.04, fell 79 pts. It was slumped 725 pts at 56,382.93, days low. Later, it erased earlier losses, and ended at 57,260.58, up by 153.43 pts. It was as Kotak Bank on Monday gained 2.40 % to Rs 2010.05 a major gainer in 30 scrips of BSE. Other gainers were HCL Technology by 2.28 % to Rs 1133, Titan by 1.81 % to Rs 2333.20, TCS by 1.61 % to Rs 3501.15 and Bajaj Finserv by 1.41 % to Rs 6900.
The losers were Sun Pharma by 2.01 % to Rs 750.95, Axis Bank by 1.89 % to Rs 649.30, NTPC by 1.67 % to Rs 126.50 and Powergrid by 1.39 % to Rs 199.05. The Sensex registered days high and low at 57,626.51 and 56,382.93 respectively. The Nifty recorded days high and low at 17,160.70 and 16,782.40 pts respectively. The Mid Cap fell by 0.93 % and Small Cap by 1.90 %. In 30 scrips, 12 advanced while 18 declined. Asian market was seen weak as Nikkei shed 1.6 percent. Similarly, Hang Seng, Kospi and Straits Times were down nearly a percent each. Taiwan Weighted too eased 0.2 percent.
