Mumbai, June 14 (Agency) The BSE Sensex on Tuesday dropped 153.13 pts to settle at 52,693.57 as selling was seen in Auto, Energy, Finance and Oil and Gas stocks. The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too slid 42.30 pts at 15,732.10. The Sensex opened lower by 351 pts at 52,495.94. During the session, it was plummeted 387 pts at 52,459.48, days low before closing at 52,693.57, sliding 153.13 pts from its previous close. The sensex registered days high and low at 53,095.32 and 52,459.48 pts respectively.
The Nifty recorded days high and low at 15,858 and 15,659.45 respectively. The sectoral indices like Oil and Gas, Auto, Finance and Energy stocks dragged the market today. In scrips, IndusInd Bank was a major loser, down by 2.12 pc to Rs 845.85 followed by Tech Mahindra by 2.08 pc to Rs 1030.45, Reliance Industries by 1.33 pc to Rs 2627.35, Maruti Suzuki by 1.32 pc to Rs 7792 and Asian Paints by 1 pc to Rs 2635.35. The gainers were Bharti Airtel by 1.63 pc to Rs 682.15, NTPC by 1.61 pc to Rs 151.25, Ultracemco by 1.42 pc to Rs 5432.15 and M& M by 1.19 pc to Rs 1016.85. The Mid Cap fell by 0.16 pc and Small Cap by 0.40 pc. In 30 scrips, 15 advanced while 15 declined. A mixed trend was seen in Asian Market. Australia fell by 3.69 pc, Japan by 1.32 pc and Taiwan by 0.15 pc. While, China was up by 1.02 pc and Hong Kong by 0.07 pc.
