Sensex ends life time high at 57,852.54 pts

Mumbai, Sep 2 (FN Bureau) The BSE Sensex on Thursday ended an all time high at 57,852.54 pts, rallied 514.33 pts on the strength of FMCG, IT, Consumer Durable and Materials stocks amid positive Asian Market. The Nifty too rose 157.90 pts at 17,234.15. Sliding by 214 on Wednesday, the Sensex opened higher by 85 pts to 57,423.65. During the day it surged 554 pts to 57,892.37, days high before closing at 57,852.54, up 514.33 pts from its previous close. The Sensex registered days high and low at 57,892.37 and 57,287.79 pts respectively. The Nifty recorded days high and low at 17,245.50 and 17,059.70 pts respectively.

The sectoral indices like FMCG, IT, Consumer Durable and Materials lifted the market up. In scrips, TCS, Hind Unilever, Kotak Bank, Ultracemco and Nestle India rallied however, selling in M& M, Bajaj Auto, Bajaj Finserv and Bajaj finance capped from further gains, broker informed. The Mid Cap rose by 0.93 pc and Small Cap by 0.80 pc. In 30 scrips, 20 advanced, 19 declined and one remained unchanged. The Asian Market was firmed, as Australia’s AS X All Ordinaries up by 0.51 pc, China’s Shanghai SE Composite Index by 1.14 pc and Taiwan’s Taiwan TSEC 50 by 0.74 pc.
