Mumbai, March 3 (Agency) The BSE Sensex on Thursday lost another 366.22 points to close at 55,102.68 in volatile trade, amid positive global cues. The Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) too slipped 107.90 points at 16,498.05. The heavy selling in auto, capital goods, bankex and FMCG stocks dragged the market further, traders said. The Sensex registered the day’s high and low at 55,996.62 and 54,931.48 respectively.
The Nifty recorded the day’s high and low at 16,768.95 and 16,442.95 respectively. In scrips, Ultracemco, Asian Paints, Dr Reddy’s Lab, Maruti Suzuki and Hind Unilever slipped while Powergrid, Wipro, Tech Mahindra and HCL Technology mover up. The Mid Cap eased by 0.64 per cent and Small Cap by 0.35 per cent. In 30 scrips, 19 declined while 11 advanced. European stocks rose on Thursday as tensions remained high over the Russia-Ukraine crisis, with oil and material prices at peak. In Asia, Japan’s Nikkei moved up by 0.7 per cent and South Korea’s Kospi too gained 1.6 per cent.
