Mumbai, Sep 30 (FN Agency) Extending losses for the third consecutive session the BSE Sensex on Thursday plummeted by 286.91 pts to settle at 59,126.36 as selling pressure was seen in Metal, Bankex, Telecom and IT stocks amid weak Asian Market. The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too eased 93.15 pts at 17,618.15. Though the equity market was seen improved in early trade, as the Sensex rose by 136 pts to open at 59,549.57 it was immediately went in red. During the day it lost ground by 394 pts to 59,019.28, days low, before closing at 59,126.36, sliding by 286.91 pts from its previous close. Meanwhile, it was advanced 144 pts at 59,557.24, days high. With this, the Sensex has dropped 950 pts in three sessions.
The sensex registered days high and low at 59,557.24 and 59,019.28 pts respectively. The Nifty recorded days high and low at 17,742.15 and 17,585.35 pts respectively. The sectoral indices like Metal, Bankex, Telecom and IT kept the market low. In scrips, Powergrid, Asian Paints, Axis Bank, Kotak Bank and Bajaj Auto dropped while buying in Bajaj Finserv, Bajaj finance, NTPC, Sun Pharma and Titan restricted from further losses, broker said. The Mid Cap rose by 0.33 pc and Small Cap by 0.56 pc. In 30 scrips, 8 advanced while 23 declined.
