Mumbai, Apr 28 (FN Agency) The BSE Sensex continued to surge on Friday too, as it zoomed 463.06 pts at close at 61,112.44 on strong global cues. The Nifty rose 149.95 pts at 18,065. The sensex moved up 72 pts at 60,721.61 in early trade. During the day it spurted 560 pts at 61,209.46, day’s high, before closing at 61,112.44, up 463.06 pts from its previous close. The Nifty registered day’s high and low at 18,089.15 and 17,885.30 pts respectively The sectoral indices that went up were Wipro by 2.79 pc to Rs 384.80, Nestle India by 2.77 pc to Rs 2173.25, ITC by 2.43 pc to Rs 425.95, L& T by 2.14 pc to Rs 2356.95 and SBI by 1.96 pc to Rs 576.
The losers were Axis Bank by 2.36 pc to Rs 860.30, HCL Technologies ny 0.75 pc to Rs 1063, Titan by 0.70 pc to Rs 264.05 and Bajaj Finserv by 0.49 pc to Rs 1353.35. The Mid cap rose by 1.32 pc and Small Cap by 0.91 pc. In 30 scrips, 22 advanced while 8 declined. The Asian Market ended strong during the day. Australia rose 0.25 pc followed by China by 1.14 pc, Hong Kong by 0.55 c, Japan by 1.40 pc and Taiwan by 1.09 pc.
