Bhubaneswar, Dec 31 (FN?Representative) The Steel Melting Shop-II of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) surpassed the historic milestone of production of 50 Million Tonnes (MT) Crude Steel on December 30. With this journey the Steel Melting Shop-II which had commenced in March 1996 has now entered a higher orbit. RSP sources said the 50 MT Crude Steel production was achieved in only 26 years. Moreover, the last 10 million tons of Crude Steel was produced in a matter of 3 years 6 months, while the last one year witnessed production of 2.5 Million Tonnes of Crude Steel.
RSP Director In-Charge Atanu Bhowmick who visited Steel Melting Shop-II department on Saturday along with senior plant officials congratulated the collective for the remarkable achievement. Bhowmick said, “The milestone has been crossed with the efforts put in by the employees of SMS-II as well as all the associated units.
