Union New and Renewable Energy Minister Pralhad Joshi on Tuesday said a record investment worth 32.45 lakh crore has been committed by all the stakeholders till 2030 to meet India’s green energy transition. The Minister said these investments will give new impetus to the Renewable Energy sector and would help to achieve 500 GW energy capacity from non fossil sources as pledged by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Addressing a press conference on the ongoing RE-Invest 2024 investors Meet and Expo, at Gandhi Nagar, Gujarat, Pralhad Joshi said, “I would thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for joining hands for this cause.
This will have a lasting impact when we start witnessing the results on the people”. He noted that state governments have given Sankalp Patra of 540 gigawatt. Manufacturers have committed additional manufacturing capacity of 340 gigawatt in the solar modules, 240 gigawatt in the solar cells, and 22 gigawatt in wind turbines and 10 gigawatt in electrolyzers”. “This is most enthusiastic and also it speaks of the trust of the investors, trust of the even other countries who have also joined hands” Joshi said. Talking about the initiatives taken by the Ministry of 100 days, the Minister said, “Two solar parks were supposed to be completed and one lakh Solar Pumps installed under PM, Kusum scheme. He stated that under PM, Surya Muft Bijli Yogana, 3.56 lakh rooftop solar systems have been installed. The Minister informed that cumulative 13.8 gigawatt of solar module production commenced in the solar PLI scheme. “Under the National Green hydrogen Mission, 11 companies have been selected for the electrolyzers manufacturing.
The total capacity of 1500 megawatt per annum offshore bid schemes were approved by the cabinet for the first time in India” he added. During the summit, over 7000 registered visitors participated, including 250 diplomats. Germany, Australia, Denmark and Norway were the participating in the event as Partner Countries. The states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh were participating as Partner States. The three-day summit is being organised to showcase India’s remarkable achievement of over 200 GW of installed non-fossil fuel capacity. It is also poised to highlight India’s impressive progress in renewable energy manufacturing and deployment. The fourth edition of the RE-Invest event, being organised outside Delhi for the first time, is hosting 44 sessions along with Chief Ministers Plenary and multiple CEO roundtables.
