Hyderabad, Dec 5 (FN Agency) Incubated from the i-TIC at IIT Hyderabad, PURE EV, one of India’s leading electric two-wheeler manufacturers, announced plans to set up a second manufacturing facility in Telangana. We have already entered into an agreement with the Telangana government for the setting up of the new facility, which will come up on 46 acres, and the investments would be Rs 400 crore, company Founder and Managing Director Dr Nishanth Dongari said in a press conference here on Wednesday. Another Rs 100 crore will be invested for Research and development, marketing, and branding, he said. The new facility would be larger, and it is likely to come up in the middle of FY27. He said that we have already invested Rs 220 crore for the existing facility located at Sangareddy, outskirts of the city.
To a question, he said that we are not raising any for the existing facility, which already has a higher capacity, and currently, the utilisation was only 40 percent only. The existing facility production capacity was 40,000 vehicles per annum, and the proposed larger new facility capacity would be two lakhs units per annum, he informed. Our company has placed a strong emphasis on electric motorcycles as 70 percent of the two wheeler market in the country is dominated by motorcycles, he said that our company has already launched two models – the ecoDryft, catering to the 110 cc market and the eTryst, designed for the 125cc segment. These models leverage PURE EV’s innovative X-Platform to deliver 171 km mileage/charge and advanced powertrain technology, he claimed. “ Our company is the first to integrate Nano PCM (Phase Change Material ) into its battery systems for efficient thermal management.
This breakthrough technology eliminates the risk of unsafe thermal incidents, ensuring superior safety for electric vehicles and boosting consumer confidence”, Nishanth also claimed. The company has successfully accelerated its growth by selling more than 75,000 EVs pan-India, and our target was one lakh units by FY27, he said. The company is also set to launch PuREPower in CY25, built using our vehicle battery/powertrain platform; he said it provides 3X more surge power with 2X life with existing systems. The company also plans to introduce generative AI-powered customer support services, enabling personalised communication in regional languages while ensuring timely service delivery, he informed. Over the next 30 months, the company aims to add 250 new dealerships, taking its total network to over 320 across the country, he said. The company has more than 120 IP applications and therefore guarantees competitive advantage and high performance of all our products, he added.
