New Delhi, Sep 6 (Agency) As many as 24 central ministries and departments besides 16 states and union territories (UTs) have been taken onboard on the National Single Window System (NSWS), a one-stop digital platform to obtain regulatory approvals. The NSWS portal is aimed at eliminating the need for investors to visit multiple offices to gather information and obtain clearances. “Currently, 24 of the 32 Ministries/Departments have on-boarded NSWS, and with respect to services, 181 out of total 368 services identified as relevant, have been on-boarded.
At the same time, 16 States/ UTs out of 36 have on-boarded the NSWS,” Commerce and Industry Ministry said in a release on Tuesday. It further said that the scope of NSWS has also been expanded to include special schemes such as Vehicle Scrapping Scheme, Indian Footwear and Leather Development Programme, Ethanol Blended Programme, and Sugar Mill Exporters Registration by bundling both Central and State Government approvals. “As on date, NSWS has stabilised. More than 13,700 investor related approvals have been granted. Over 13,000 approvals are in-progress,” the Ministry said. Adani group, Tata, Reliance, Gail India, Indian Oil and DCM Shriram are among the top companies using the NSWS portal.
