New Delhi, Jan 2 (Agency) Nissan Motor India has achieved domestic sales of 3010 vehicle in December 2021 with a two-fold jump in domestic wholesales for its two brands Nissan and Datsun. The company had a wholesales of 1,159 units in the same month of 2020, it said on Saturday. The company’s domestic sales in the April-December 2021 period were 27,965 units as against 6,609 units in the year-ago period, Nissan Motor India said in a statement. This represents a cumulative growth of 323 per cent despite the challenges of COVID-19 and semiconductor shortages affecting supplies,” according to Nissan Motor India Managing Director Rakesh Shrivastava. The company’s export sales were at 28,582 vehicles against 17,785 vehicles in 2020 year to date, leading to 61% growth.
Driving on the strength of the newly launched Nissan Magnite, the company has delivered over 35,000 units of SUV Magnite, supported by a strong booking momentum, with 31 per cent of the 77,000 plus bookings coming from the digital ecosystem. “Going forward with the support of the supply chain our endeavor will be to maintain this growth momentum for the upcoming months and to continue to deliver value to the customers with the lowest cost of ownership towards customer assurance,” said Srivastava. The all-new Nissan Magnite comes with a maintenance cost at just 30 paise/km (for 50,000 km), a warranty of 2 years (50,000km) which can be extended for up to 5 years (100,000 km) at a nominal cost. Nissan India has also launched a virtual sales advisor for Nissan Magnite to enhance customers’ car buying experience. The advisor equips Nissan customers with real-time personalized product expert interaction that provides information about the vehicle, answer product and ownership related queries, variant suggestions, financing and exchange value options, virtual test drives as well as book the car online.
