Bhubaneswar, Feb 19 (Bureau) A Mission Shakti Bazar will come up in Bhubaneswar to showcase the rich variety of SHG products, meeting the retail needs of Bhubaneswar customers. The sprawling Mission Shakti Bazaar spread over an area of 10,000 square feet will have Mission Shakti SHG products from all across the state for sale and display. It will be a delight to urban customers and will also encourage big buyers to contact SHG producers. 5T and Nabin Odisha Chairman Kartik Pandian on Monday visited the under-construction Mission Shakti Bazar in the heart of the capital city. It is being developed under the 5T initiative and is nearing completion and will be opened soon for selling products.
About one thousand different farm and nonfarm products to start with like hand-pound red rice, pickles from Berhampur, the famous Kandhamala Haldi, honey from Nuapada, Sabai products from Mayurbhanj, golden grass products from Kendrapara, Phula Badi from Keonjhar and many more will be available in the Mission Shakti Bazar It will also find a place in the tourism map of Odisha for authentic handmade products by women. Taken up under the HCM 5T initiative, Mission Shakti Bazaar marks a milestone in transforming SHGs into SMEs. Expressing happiness over the progress Pandian said that it is one of the finest examples of women-led entrepreneurship which will mark a milestone in transforming SHGs into SMEs. This Bazaar will be managed by the Khurda Matrushakti Farmers Producer Company – formed by women SHGs and has SHGs as its shareholders.
