Pune May 19 (FN Agency) Recent advances in varied subjects including advanced materials, plastics and composites and manufacturing processes will be among the focus areas of the fourth edition of the International Conference on Automotive Materials and Manufacturing slated to be held here from May 31 to June 2. Organised by the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) in association with SAE India and ASM International (Pune), AM&M 2023 will bring together industry leaders and technocrats in the field of material and manufacturing technologies from various industries to discuss innovative ideas, technologies, solutions, challenges, etc. in the field of material and manufacturing. The conference has lined up over 40 technical papers to be presented in 15 technical sessions by representatives from the Industry, R&D Institutes as well as academia at the ARAI – Homologation Technology Center (HTC) at Chakan – the venue for the three-day event.
There would be 20 keynote addresses and plenary sessions. Highlight of AM&M 2023 will be a panel discussion on “Material for Sustainable Mobility”, wherein experts, CTOs, researchers and scientists will share their views on the contemporary topic., the organisers announced in a press meet on Thursday. Another headline chapter would be a panel discussion featuring experts on “Big Data Analytics in Material and Manufacturing” – which is being considered as a vital future technology in the automotive industry. The third edition of the conference was conducted on online mode because of the Covid19 pandemic Dr. Reji Mathai, Director-ARAI, said the central theme of AM&M 2023 is ‘Shaping Progressive Mobility through Emerging Materials & Manufacturing Technology’. “The automotive industry is striving for fuel efficiency improvement, light weighting of structures, safety requirements, impact on environment, reduction in product development cycles, changing mobility solutions such as e mobility and so on.
At the same time Atmanirbhar – Self-reliance is the need of the hour and Material and Manufacturing is backbone of this movement,” Mathai said. India now occupies the third position after China and the US in global automotive manufacturing footprint, and holds the third place in two-wheeler and tractor manufacturing and is at the number three slot when it comes to passenger cars. Some of the key Speakers for the Conference include Dr Ajit Sapre, Group President, Reliance Industries, Dr S.A Illangovan, scientist, ISRO and Dr B Praveenkumar from DRDO. AM&M 2023 will simultaneously host an exposition with 25 exhibitors showcasing their technologies and developments in their booth.
