New Delhi, Dec 20 (Representative) Representatives from 15 different countries were trained in Remote Sensing Technology by Geological Survey of India, Training Institute (GSITI), Hyderabad under Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) program of Ministry of External Affairs. Valedictory ceremony was conducted here on Tuesday at MS Krishnan Hall of GSITI under the chairmanship of chairmanship of Ch. Venkateswara Rao, Deputy Director General and Head, Mission-V in the august presence of S.P. Bhutia, Director (TC), Dr. Nisha Rani, Director (Course Coordinator), distinguished participants from 15 countries, faculty members and staff of GSITI.
4-week long training program was inaugurated on December 2 by Ch. Venkateswara Rao, Dy. Director General and Head, Mission-V. The program’s goal is to share technology to create professional expertise that will support social and economic development in the developing countries. On the occasion of valediction, the course report of the training was presented by Dr. Nisha Rani, Director & Course Coordinator. Dr. Nisha has briefed that the training was focused on space technology, its application in mineral investigation, land survey, coastal. During training participants were taken to different scientific organizations and heritage sites to exposed them how various organizations are utilizing advanced technology and about the rich heritage culture of India and Telangana State. Yoga session was organized to keep the participants physically and mentally fit.
This training included project work and presentation by the individual participants. The entire training program, hospitality, lab facility, faculty guidance and infrastures provided by GSITI was highly appreciated by the participants. All the participants given their individual feedback during the valedictory session, they were highly appreciated the way training programme was conducted, facilities and hospitality provided throughout this training course and also expressed that it will be very useful in their professional work. In his address, Venkateswara Rao adviced the participants to utilize the remote sensing techniques which they have learnt at GSTI, Hyderabad for the development and prosperity of their country. By using such advanced techniques, they can identify the potential zones for the mineralization. At the end, each participant was awarded with certificate & souvenir after successful completion of the training programme, he added.
