New Delhi, May 12 (Bureau) The four metropolitan cities of the country on Wednesday saw up to a 25 paise per litre increase in petrol prices and 27 paise per litre increase in diesel prices. Delhi and Kolkata witnessed for the first time petrol prices going past Rs 92 per litre. In Mumbai, diesel prices neared Rs 90 per litre.
As per India’s premier all marketing company Indian Oil Corporation, the national capital saw petrol and diesel rising by 25 paise per litre to reach Rs 92.05 per litre and Rs 82.6 1 per litre respectively. This is the first time when Delhi is witnessing petrol prices shoot past Rs 92 for the litre. From May 4 till now, petrol prices in the capital have risen by Rs 1.65 for the litre and diesel prices have risen by Rs 1.88 per litre. During these nine days, seven times prices have risen while during two days they remained constant.
