New Delhi, Nov 7 (FN Bureau) Driven by two-wheelers, electric vehicle (EV) sales recorded 55.16% year-on-year growth in October this year to 2,17,803 units, as per data released by Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) on Thursday. The total EV sales had stood at 1,40,373 units in the month of October 2023. Electric two-wheelers accounted for the bulk of the total sales during the period under review.
The segment posted an impressive 85.14% year-on-year growth to 1,39,159 units in October this year as compared to 75,165 units in the same month a year ago. Ola Electric, TVS Motor, Bajaj Auto and Ather Energy were among the key players in the electric two-wheeler space. Passenger electric vehicle sales increased 39.12% year-on-year to 10,609 units in the month of October this year. Tata Motors remained the leader in the electric passenger vehicle segment followed by MG Motor India. As per FADA monthly vehicle sales numbers, the electric three-wheeler segment saw 17.83% year-on-year growth in October this year at 67,171 units.
