Jammu, Nov 28 (Representative) Entrepreneur and social activist Kuwarani (Dr) Ritu Singh on Wednesday felicitated a specially abled man for creating a world record with a solo drive. As per an official communique, in an event hosted by Delhi Public School Jammu, under the aegis of the Maharaja Hari Singh Social and Educational Foundation, Tilak Raj Sudan was honored for extraordinary achievement in setting a World Record for the longest solo car ride by a specially-abled individual on the highest motorable road in the world. He covered an astounding 2,200 kilometers across Rajouri, Srinagar, Leh, Ladakh, Pangong, and Manali, Sudan’s remarkable journey carried the powerful message of “Mera Badalta Naya Jammu and Kashmir-Leh Ladakh.” Despite being 100 percent specially-abled due to a spinal cord injury, Sudan defied all odds, completing this extraordinary feat and proving that with determination, no challenge is insurmountable, read the handout. The event was also graced by Raman Gupta, a leading businessman from Jammu known for his philanthropic work and social activism, and Sandhya Dhar, a celebrated disability rights activist and founder of the JIGER Foundation, Jammu.
Kuwarani Dr. Ritu Singh, Founder of Delhi Public School – Jammu, Nagbani and Katra and co-founder of Maharaja Hari Singh Social and Educational Foundation, in her address, expressed deep admiration for Tilak Raj Sudan, applauding him as a symbol of extraordinary courage, self-determination and inclusivity. “Shri Sudan’s achievement reflects the indomitable power of the human spirit. He has shown us all that obstacles can be overcome with sheer willpower and self-belief. His journey exemplifies inclusivity in its truest sense, where barriers fall and the strength of character takes the lead,” Dr. Ritu Singh remarked. She further emphasised the need to foster a culture of inclusivity and empowerment, where individuals of all abilities are celebrated for their strength and perseverance. “His story is a shining example for future generations, teaching us that with determination and resilience, one can not only overcome challenges but soar beyond them,” she added. In his speech, Tilak Raj Sudan shared the trials and triumphs of his inspiring 11-day journey. He extended thanks to the Maharaja Hari Singh Social and Educational Foundation and DPS Jammu for recognizing his efforts. Earlier, Ruchi Chabra, Principal of DPS Jammu, lauded Sudan for his remarkable display of resilience and passion, becoming a beacon of hope and inspiration for society.
