EmbedUR systems to invest Rs 500 cr in Chennai facility, to increase headcount to 500 by 2025

Chennai, Oct 12 (FN Bureau) Silicon Valley-based embedUR Systems will be investing Rs 500 crore in its Chennai facility over the next five years to strengthen its expertise in new technologies and to retain existing talent, besides ramping up its head count to 500 by September 2025 from the present 300-plus strength. Talking to reporters here on Wednesday, Company founder and CEO Rajesh C Subramaniam said embedUR Systems hs invested to the tune of Rs 150 crores in Chennai over the last two years. “We plan to invest another Rs 500 crore over the next five years,” he said, adding, the amount would be raised through internal accruals, and would be infused into new technologies such as AI/ML, edge computing, cyber security, connectivity, developing infrastructure, expanding market outreach and sustaining the present headcount. He said embedUR System, which currently employs 310 people in Chennai plans to enhance it to 400 by the end of 2024 and then to 500 by September 2025.

The company provides software for electronic chips deployed in millions of embedded devices across the globe. This includes smart medical badges, smart energy meters, mining equipment, smart tractors and Wi-Fi routers. “With the evolution of new technologies such as cloud/ AI, and increasing affordability of electronic components, we foresee an unprecedented demand for embedded technologies across industries,” he said. He also said that India was driving the growth in the embedded systems market in the Asia Pacific region, while embedUR Systems had proved repeatedly to its clients that it can deliver complex solutions at a rapid pace.
