Hyderabad, August 7 (FN Agency) Dhaksha Unmanned Systems, a prominent Indian drone manufacturer and subsidiary of Coromandel International, has successfully clinched a contract worth Rs 165 crore to provide 200 medium altitude logistics drones and associated accessories to the Indian Army. In a recent development, Dhaksha has also secured a contract for 400 drones from the agri-input cooperative IFFCO, intended for the distribution of agri-spraying drones. These deliveries are scheduled to be completed within the next 12 months, a company release said on Monday. Dhaksha has surpassed orders worth Rs 165 crore for the current fiscal year, encompassing the Defense and IFFCO contracts. The company maintains a robust order pipeline, which holds the potential to further augment its revenues for the ongoing financial year.
A significant stride for Dhaksha has been its technological collaboration with Anna University. It stands as the sole entity within the nation to have received type certificates from DGCA for three drone models in the medium and small categories, catering to applications in agriculture and surveillance. In response to these recent advancements, Arun Alagappan, the Executive Vice Chairman of Coromandel International, commented, “The defense contract serves as a validation of Dhaksha’s technological prowess and its capacity to capitalize on opportunities in the Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) realm. This strategic move marks the entry of Coromandel and the Murugappa Group into the domain of Indian Defense sector supplies. We are enthused to collaborate with and bolster Dhaksha, thereby driving the vision of Atma Nirbhar Bharat in the field of Drone manufacturing.”
