New Delhi, Feb 20 (Agency) Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Saturday said that during the next 25 years, the Indian economy’s growth and expansion, as well as the creation of employment and investments, will largely be driven by the country’s startup and entrepreneurial ecosystem. Instead of only establishing strategic alliances, enterprises are now seeing the need to look at the startup ecosystem as a participant, he said at CII Startupreneur Awards Ceremony and launch of CII ICONN 2022.
He said the Indian economy is undergoing a deep structural transformation, which is fueled by lakhs of young entrepreneurs or new enterprises. Appreciating CII’s efforts, he said they are extremely important, both in terms of where the future intellectual property of these startups lies and how they are domiciled in India, which were previously lacking. Kris Gopalakrishnan, Chairman of the CII Startureneur Award and Chairman of the CII Centre of Excellence for Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Startups, said the government’s Startup India programme, launched in 2016, laid the foundation for India to become a startup destination for innovative entrepreneurs.
