Mumbai Jan 30 (FN Agency) Maharashtra Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil on Monday stressed the need to promote and brand the production of coarse grains. Patil was speaking at the inauguration of the two-day International Bulk Grains Conference organised at Ram Narayan Ruia College here.
Patil said on the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the year 2023 has been declared as the International Year of Cereals in the United Nations General Assembly. The proposal has been supported by many countries around the world. Due to this, public awareness is being created about the importance of the contribution of whole grains and its usefulness as a nutritious and healthy food and this international conference has been organised as a part of this, he added.
