Itanagar, Sep 24 (Representative) Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt General (Retd) KT Parnaik advised the state government officials for optimum use of technology and automation for better planning and execution of projects. With the computerization of their data, the officers can know the exact requirements, analyze and plan better and rectify the shortcomings at the earliest. The automation will facilitate in paperless offices as well, he said. The Governor said that the officials must go out of their offices, reach out to the people, and inspect the progress of works on the ground and use technology to monitor the developmental projects. Parnaik, on his maiden visit to the remote Kra Daadi district bordering China, was addressing the officials after reviewing the developmental programmes and schemes at Tali, about 90 km from Palin, the district headquarters on Monday. While reviewing the progress of the Central and State Governments’ developmental projects, programmes and schemes in the district, he emphasized on strengthening the four priority sectors of health, education, infrastructure and tourism. The Governor said that to have a robust health scenario, there must be at least four basic specialists in the District Hospitals, asking officials to ensure availability of essential medicines in health centers.
Sharing his concern about education in rural areas, the Governor advised the education officials to focus on school drop-outs and reach out to them. He stressed on providing libraries to encourage reading habits among the students. The Governor stressed on successful implementation of the Vibrant Villages Programme, which he said would foster reverse migration once development reaches the border areas. Parnaik also highlighted the importance of boosting the tourism potential of the State, which he said can bring socio-economic development. While suggesting Bhutan’s tourism model, the Governor said that such steps will encourage entrepreneurship and self-employment spirit amongst the youth. State’s Land Management and Civil Aviation Minister Balo Raja, Tali MLA Jikke Tako, Kra Daadi Deputy Commissioner Sunny Singh, SP Sumit Kumar Jha and heads of departments (HoDs) were present in the meeting.
Earlier, the DC and the HoDs briefed the Governor about the developmental progress of the district, as well as the initiatives of various departments and challenges faced by them. The Governor, accompanied by Minister Balo Raja and MLA Jikke Tako, also engaged with the villagers from the vibrant border villages, fostering a direct dialogue with the local community. Addressing a public meeting at Pipsorang, another administrative circle in the district, Parnaik said that the State is implementing the Vibrant Villages Programme, as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to bring progress and prosperity in the remote border villages of Arunachal Pradesh. He said that once development reaches the border areas, it will foster reverse migration and the borders will be more secure. Highlighting the health, education, infrastructure and tourism sectors for vigorous socio-economic development of the remote villages, the Governor said the government is reaching out to the villagers through Ayushman Bharat, Jan Suvidha and Seva Aapke Dwar programmes. He also said that in remote places like Pipsorang, drones could be used to deliver medicines.
