Thiruvananthapuram, June 19 (Agency) Companies specialising in Artificial Intelligence (AI) domain need to focus on addressing the challenges of business leaders as they believe decisions made by Generative AI are not sufficiently explainable and can’t be trusted, according to Srinivasan Muthuswami, Senior Technical Staff Member (STSM), IBM India Software Labs. “Business leaders face challenges in scaling AI across the enterprise with trust. They are concerned about the safety and ethical aspects of Gen. AI,” said Muthuswami.
He was delivering a lecture on ‘Unleashing the Power of Generative AI: Transforming Ideas into Innovation’ as part of the ‘Tech Talk’ series being organised by the State Government in association with IBM at Technopark here today in the run-up to the two-day international Gen. AI conclave being held in Kochi on July 11 and 12. Noting that business leaders believe Gen. AI can’t be trusted, Mr Muthuswami said they also think it will propagate established biases. The expert urged AI firms to focus on these areas by bringing innovation since there are a lot of opportunities. Elaborating on the benefits of Gen. AI in IBM, he said it shows around 40 percent performance improvement for a highly skilled worker compared with those who don’t use Gen. AI, in addition to improving conversational access to employee support and customer care services.
