3-day 7th International Health and Wellness Expo concluded

New Delhi, Sept 2 (Representative) The three-day 7th International Health and Wellness Expo, organised by the Namo Gange Trust from August 29 to August 31 at Pragati Maidan, concluded here on Sunday.Union Minister of State S.P. Singh Baghel graced the closing ceremony as the chief guest and toured the exhibition. On this occasion, Namo Gange Trust Chairman Vijay Sharma, Pankaj Tripathi, and all trustees were present.Addressing the gathering, S.P. Singh Baghel emphasised the need to prioritise health through lifestyle management.He remarked that it is more important to focus on prevention rather than spending on treatment after falling ill. He said, “A healthy body fosters a healthy mind, and a healthy mind builds a healthy nation.” Ayurveda plays a vital role in ensuring a healthy life for everyone. Ayurveda and Ayush are the most ancient systems of medicine, and the current government is working extensively on them, paving the way for a bright future. He encouraged people to adopt Ayurveda to stay disease-free.Dr. Manoj Nesari, Advisor (Ayurveda) to the Ministry of Ayush, and Prof. Dr. Tanuja Manoj Nesari, Director of the All-India Institute of Ayurveda, addressed the Arogya Seminar at the closing of the Expo.At the conclusion of the 7th International Health and Wellness Expo, Prof. Dr. Tanuja Manoj Nesari emphasised the need to integrate Ayurveda with science, technology, and traditional medicine.

She said, “The future of medicine is no medicine.” The future of healthcare lies in understanding basic science before developing applications. She highlighted the importance of researching the mechanisms behind practices to create standardised protocols that complement traditional medicine. This integrated approach is aligned with the All-India Institute of Ayurveda’s vision of moving from illness to wellness and ultimately towards happiness. Dr. Manoj Nesari stressed the need for more expos like the International Health and Wellness Expo to promote lifestyle changes, raise health awareness, and encourage professionals and entrepreneurs in these fields. He commended the Namo Gange Trust for their outstanding work. Dr. Nesari credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the significant transformations in the health sector, noting the progress and innovation happening today. The 2017 National Health Policy and increased investment in the Ayush sector are prime examples of this.

The COVID-19 pandemic provided a unique opportunity for Ayush to collaborate with allopathic medicine. Ayush has also partnered with IIT, CSIR, DST, and DBT to work on various health-related aspects. The Expo featured 91 stalls from government and private organisations, covering Ayurveda, horticulture, wellness, and more. Major organisations like CSIR, MDES, ICAR, NRDC, CDB, the National Medicinal Plants Board, and the Uttarakhand Forest Resource Management-JICA also had stalls. The 7th International Health and Wellness Expo is the largest expo for Ayush and traditional Indian medicine. Namo Gange has been working for over 10 years to bring Ayush to the masses. The Expo was attended by Union Ministers, Padma Shri and Padma Vibhushan doctors, and several other prominent personalities.Thousands of students participated in the three-day Arogya Seminar, conducted under the guidance of Ayush scholars.Ayush universities and NIOS were also present, along with students and the Director of the All-India Institute of Ayurveda.
