145 MoUs worth Rs.12.89 lakh cr signed at Utkarsha Odisha Conclave : Majhi

Bhubaneswar, Jan 29 (FN Bureau) A total of 145 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) worth Rs.12.89 lakh crore were signed during the two-day Utkarsha Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025, which concluded here on Wednesday, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced. Briefing the media on the outcome of the conclave, Majhi stated that these agreements would bring about a paradigm shift in Odisha’s industrial sector and mark the beginning of a new era of collaboration with world-class industrial institutions. He described the Excellence Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025 as a resounding success, highlighting participation from numerous industrialists, business delegates, investors, and policymakers from across the globe.

The Chief Minister noted that investment proposals have been received across various sectors, including chemicals, petrochemicals, textiles, mining and metallurgy, renewable energy, IT, tourism, and food processing. These investments, he said, will create more than 8.94 lakh employment opportunities in the state and significantly impact Odisha’s socio-economic landscape, leading to inclusive growth. In addition to the MoUs, Majhi revealed that the government received 448 investment intents worth Rs.3.84 lakh crore, which are expected to generate 3.92 lakh jobs. In total, Odisha has attracted investment proposals worth Rs.16.73 lakh crore across 593 projects spanning 20 sectors, with the potential to create 12.88 lakh employment opportunities. Through these MoUs, agreements have been finalized for a total investment of Rs.12.89 lakh crore.

The Chief Minister emphasized that the conclave has firmly positioned Odisha on the global investment map, with representatives from 16 countries, including partner nations such as Singapore, Malaysia, and Australia, attending the event. On the second day of the conclave, discussions were held on key industry sectors, including textiles and garments, renewable energy, skill development, women entrepreneurship, tourism, circular economy, agriculture and food processing, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, biotech, and industrial infrastructure. Majhi noted that various strategies were proposed to attract investment and drive growth in these sectors. The Skilled in Odisha session focused on equipping the workforce to meet evolving industry demands. A panel discussion on Women Entrepreneurship and Startup Odisha highlighted innovation and inclusivity in business. The Chief Minister further emphasized Odisha’s commitment to sustainable development, as reflected in discussions on renewable energy, circular economy, and green technology.

“We are fully committed to creating a prosperous Odisha by 2036 and ensuring Odisha’s significant contribution to a developed India by 2047,” Majhi stated. He expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for inaugurating the conclave and extending his support for Odisha’s development. Majhi mentioned that in his address to the global industrial community, the Prime Minister described Odisha as an “excellent and promising land of opportunity”. This endorsement, he said, has created significant investment prospects for the state. “Modi ji has pledged full support to build a prosperous Odisha by 2036 and transform it into a growth engine for a developed India by 2047,” he added. The Chief Minister also extended his gratitude to various organizations, including the Industries Department, EPCL, IDCO, CII, and PwC, for their contributions to the conclave’s success.
