Union Bank launches ‘UNI-CARBON CARD’

Hyderabad, Mar 30 (Agency) Union Bank of India on Friday announced the launching of “UNI – CARBON CARD”, an HPCL co-branded credit card on the Rupay platform of NPCI. Speaking on the occasion, Bank Managing Director and CEO RajkiranRai G, said “It is a unique card designed with association one of the largest Public Sector Bank, Union Bank of India and HPCL, a leader in the fuel retail and Rupay – India’s largest card payment network. It will create an opportunity to create value for the customers, the bank said in a release.

The Union Bank HPCL Co-branded credit card takes us another step closer to making India a less-cash economy, realizing the ‘Digital India’ vision of our Honorable Prime Minister,” he added. Speaking on the occasion, Bank Executive Director Dinesh Kumar Garg, said, “The present co-branded card is first of its kind with HPCL, a major player in fuel retail and the cardholder certainly will be benefited.” The Bank has a total network of 9,590 plus branches and 13,280 plus ATMs across India, this co-branded credit card is a Bank’s maiden joint venture.

While using this card at HPCL retail outlets, the cardholder gets Cashback/Rewards in addition to the waiver of fuel surcharge provided by the Bank. Cardholders will be able to enjoy many freebies and offer brought out by NPCI such as Entertainment, Lifestyle, Travel, Shopping, Food delivery. This card is contactless – “Tap & Go” and an NCMC card in line with the Government of India’s directives. Offering to salaried and others, the card limit offered is 20 per cent of gross annual income with a minmum of Rs 50,000 with no upper limit, the release added.
